The Code of Conduct is a document that includes the ethical and moral guidelines that govern the activity of the SMARTIDIOM Group companies. This Code defines the core purpose of everything we do at SMARTIDIOM and the underlying principles outlined here are applicable worldwide, wherever and whenever the SMARTIDIOM Group operates. These principles are applicable to the Board of Directors and all SMARTIDIOM Group employees, including temporary workers and trainees, and govern the relationship with Clients, Subcontractors, Suppliers and all other Stakeholders.
The SMARTIDIOM Group’s Code of Conduct has the following main objectives:
• To share, both internally and externally, the ethical and deontological principles and standards that guide the activity of the SMARTIDIOM Group;
• To promote and encourage, both internally and externally, the adoption of the ethical and deontological principles and standards that we defend;
• To help us act appropriately in situations where our values are challenged;
• To strengthen the institutional image of the SMARTIDIOM Group.
Everything we do at SMARTIDIOM is driven by the belief that we are impacting others through our example. It is our conviction that we can accomplish this in three ways: by being the best company possible for our employees, by earning the unbreakable loyalty of our clients and by inspiring the world to strive towards consistently excelling at being the best version of itself.
To foster in people’s minds and hearts an extraordinary vision of the world that inspires them to fulfil their purpose and to make their dreams come true.
• Results are a priority. – We work relentlessly to find new approaches to growing our business and, in doing so, we guarantee the best for our people.
• Integrity is at the root of who we are. – We set an example and do what is right, even when there is no one watching.
• We are committed to always delivering our best. – We are rigorous and demanding with our work to be able to provide a ‘Wow’ experience to all our stakeholders.
• We have the best people. – We aspire to be the most outstanding company possible, and to achieve this, we need the best people by our side.
• We place ourselves in the other person’s shoes. – We take initiative to be at the forefront of operations and we are proactive team players. We give our best in everything we do and communicate with each other in an upfront and resolute manner.
• We encourage a positive global mindset. – We are empathic, we cherish our achievements and we celebrate our victories.
• We are relentlessly evolving. – We are bold, advocate change and take risks in order to make an impact and inspire others.
• We are confident in ourselves and remain humble. – We treat others with respect, even when we disagree with them. We hold ourselves accountable for our actions, accept our faults and apologise.
For us, it is of paramount importance to develop and maintain a relationship of empathy and trust with our Clients, allowing us to provide a level of service that is beyond their expectations. This can only be achieved with full dedication and non-negotiable commitment from the various Stakeholders of the SMARTIDIOM Group, namely the Management, Employees, Subcontractors and Suppliers, who must perform their duties in line with SMARTIDIOM’s values, culture and strategies.
As role models, all employees of the SMARTIDIOM Group, regardless of their rank or duties, must assume, agree to and comply with the rules and principles set out in this Code whenever they undertake any action in the name or on behalf of SMARTIDIOM.
At the SMARTIDIOM Group, our People are our most valuable asset. Regardless of the contractual framework for collaboration, all the professionals who work for SMARTIDIOM are considered a key part of the team. The relationship between the SMARTIDIOM Group and its Subcontractors is based on three core principles – trust, transparency and mutual support – and it is in our best interest to keep this relationship as long-lasting and rewarding as possible for both parties. To this end, SMARTIDIOM undertakes to provide its Subcontractors with all the support, feedback, guidance and tools deemed necessary for the optimal achievement of their objectives.
We operate in good faith with our business partners, establishing a sound and transparent relationship with them, using clear and straightforward communication, while signalling a collaborative and enduring partnership.
Considering that healthy competition is a positive factor in the continuous improvement of its business activity, SMARTIDIOM respects market criteria and the legislation in force, encouraging a respectful competition with its peers at all times.
It is in the utmost interest of the SMARTIDIOM Group to contribute positively to the development of the Communities in which it operates. Our DNA comprises initiatives that foster the conscious use of natural resources and the preservation of the environment through the adoption of processes that minimise the environmental impact of our activities.
SMARTIDIOM undertakes to respect the confidentiality of the documents to which it has access during the course of the relations and partnerships established with its Stakeholders, without disclosing their content to third parties, either during or after the end of the collaboration. Likewise, all information owned by the company that is made available to its Stakeholders and classified as protected or confidential by SMARTIDIOM must be treated as such during and after any contractual relationship. Employees and Management are bound to protect the confidentiality of the information to which they have access in the course of their duties, and are not allowed to use it to gain an advantage for themselves or for third parties.
SMARTIDIOM Stakeholders are bound to protect and safeguard the image of the Group and its Employees, Subcontractors, Clients and Partners. It is the responsibility of all Employees to safeguard and preserve the company’s physical, financial and intellectual assets. Employees must engage in a type of behaviour that does not jeopardise their own safety or that of the company’s assets.
• Interpersonal relationship: the relationship between the parties must be grounded in mutual respect, loyalty, cooperation, truthfulness and objective communication. It is forbidden to engage in any form of moral or sexual harassment in the workplace or in the working environment.
• Equal opportunities: we advocate for a type of management based on equal opportunities, promoting a good environment among the parties involved in all projects. SMARTIDIOM does not tolerate discrimination or any other form of behaviour that goes against this commitment, incites exclusion or creates a bad professional environment.
• Leisure activities: recreational events involving SMARTIDIOM Employees and other Stakeholders are welcomed by the company, as long as these activities do not lead to a situation in which any particular Stakeholder is favoured. Specifically, SMARTIDIOM encourages the sharing of ideas and networking between the parties involved, but does not tolerate that these activities are aimed at benefitting a particular person/entity.
• Gifts and other payments: all SMARTIDIOM Employees are forbidden to receive any kind of gift from external organisations, whenever there is a clear intention of favouring a significant decision directly linked to the Employee’s duties.
Compliance with this Code of Conduct is essential for the preservation of sound relationships between the parties involved in all processes. All SMARTIDIOM audiences are expected to be aware of and up to date on the information contained in it, so that there is consensus and compliance with the best practices described therein.
